Robotics in the LemBix Lab

biorobot

We use liquid handling robots to perform various tasks. The main workhorse is a Qiagen Biorobot 3000. This machine is highly programmable and works well with volumes over about 25 microliters. We use if for cherry picking cDNAs from our 17,000 cDNA collection from Open Biosystems. We also use it for doing four 96-well mini-preps simultaneously and we also use it for rearraying compounds. Sometimes we use it to do immunohistochemistry of neurons in 96 well dishes. We also have a 96 pin Matrix Hydra and a BioTek plate washer.
